What Is a Sorbet?
A sorbet is a frozen dessert with no dairy content, similar to Italian ice. Though there may be other flavorings used such as honey or non-dairy almond milk, a sorbet is typically made with just two main ingredients: fruit (usually pureed) and sugar that is churned, much like butter.
Sorbets look a lot like ice cream, making it the perfect solution for parents with kids! Unlike ice cream, however, sorbet doesn’t have air whipped into it. This absence of air acts to increase the sorbet’s density, giving it a far greater flavor-to-taste-bud ratio. For many, sorbet also serves as a low-fat healthy alternative to ice cream.

Just how easy is sorbet to make?
Making Kiwifruit Sorbet — the Easy Way!
The quickest, easiest way to make kiwifruit sorbet is to simply cut Zespri SunGold Kiwifruit in half and cut into small pieces. Then place the kiwifruit slices on a plate or tray and freeze for about two hours (or until frozen).
Once frozen, place the kiwifruit into the blender and blend until it has a granular texture. Scoop out the pureed kiwifruit and place into freezer until you are ready to serve.
Serving Tip: Freeze single-serve dishes and keep them in the freezer until you’re ready to serve and enjoy your kiwifruit sorbet!
